Free download: Lunar New Year information card

As a librarian and a racialized person, it's so important to me that our cultures are celebrated. Particularly for children, it's so important that they see themselves in the books that they read, and that they grow up being exposed to diverse literature. This creates curiosity and dialogue, which is so important, especially for young minds!

I put this Lunar New Year information card together as part of packaging some lucky red envelopes for local primary school children. It's fun for the kids, as they get stickers and chocolate coins, but it's also a fun way to share this important celebration in East Asian culture. The information card provides some cultural background, as well as a few book recommendations.
